This weekend saw a number of our loanees get game time at their different clubs. It is pleasing to see that the majority of our bigger name players are featuring regularly for their new clubs and some of the players who haven’t featured as much are slowly starting to force their way into the starting line-ups.

In Spain, Nikos Vergos came on as a 76th minute substitute as Elche were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Leganes in their Segunda Division match.

Michael Olaitan sat out the entire game on the substitute’s bench as FC Twente went down to a 1-3 defeat to PSV. The early season faith shown in Olaitan by his new coach seems to be waining as he struggles to find the net.

Elsewhere, a change of fortunes seems to coming the way of another Thrylos striker out on loan. After weeks of not featuring in the match day squad for Karlsruher, Dimitris Diamantakos has found himself starting on the bench for the last two games. Diamantakos came off the bench for the second successive match as his Karlsruher side beat Kaiserslautern 2-0 in a very good win for the club which sees them move up the table after a poor start to the season. Dimitris played the last 21 minutes of the match.

In Belgium’s Friday night fixture, Marko Scepovic did not feature for Royal Mouscron Peruwelz as they won 4-0 at Genk to continue their rise to mid-table safety. The other Thrylos Belgian contingent had a very good weekend. Mathieu Dossevi & Sambou Yatabare both started for Standard Liege in their 3-2 win away at Charleroi. Yatabare came off after 82′ of action while Dossevi provided the assist for the equalising goal to make it 2-2. Liege went on to find a winning goal in the 90th minute giving the side a much needed win, lifting them off the foot of the table.

In Mexico, Jorge Benitez scored his first league goal for Cruz Azul as they won 1-2 at Santos Laguna. Benitez scored early in the 1st half and managed to play the first 63 minutes of the game. Jorge will be hopeful to build on his first goal as Cruz Azul are languishing in the bottom half of the table and have found both goals and wins hard to come by this season.

Manolis Tzanakakis & Nicolas Martinez both started for Anorthosis as they registered a 4-0 win over Ermis in Cyprus. Tzanakakis played the full match while Martinez played 78 minutes. Anorthosis currently find themselves in third place in the league having played a game fewer than the rest of the league.
